Dolores Offitto Werring
Savannah, Georgia - Dee Werring peacefully transitioned to eternal life on October 13, 2013 with her immediate family at her side. Dee's life will be celebrated with close friends at a home reception on Wednesday afternoon from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. She will be laid to rest after a Mass and burial at Gate of Heaven Cemetery in Hawthorne, NY at a later date.
Dee was the daughter of Andrew and Mary Offitto and grew up in Kew Gardens, Long Island. She raised her children with her loving husband, John, mainly in Livingston and Bernardsville, New Jersey. She was active in many community functions, and was particularly proud of her role as President of the Delbarton Mothers' Guild. She was deeply involved in the activities of her children and particularly loved golf and bridge with her friends. She was a proud member of Spring Brook, Roxiticus, Panther Valley, and The Landings Golf Clubs.
She was predeceased by her brother Andrew Louis and her nephew, Craig Howard. She leaves behind her devoted husband John, of Savannah, Georgia; her sister, Lorraine Weinlein, of Convent Station, New Jersey; her sister-in-in-law, Roberta Lee of Lakeland, Florida; her son, John, and his wife, Patricia, of Mendham, New Jersey; her daughter, Cynthia, and her husband, Todd Hannan, of Richmond, Virginia; her grandchildren - John Andrew and his wife, Melissa Werring; Kristin and her husband, Dean Scalfani; Jeff and his wife, Stefani Werring; Scott Hannan; Lindsay Hannan; Alissa and her husband, Graham Prather; and her great grandchildren - Ryan, Jack, Reagan, Alice, Luca, and Elsa, with another great granddaughter due next month; and a close nephew, Barry Howard, of Convent Station, New Jersey.
